Baylor's 11th Birthdays

Baylor wanted a sleep over birthday this year so we planned it for November 2nd in hopes for good weather for the bounce house.  We decided to skip the Halloween party, which was a sad but good decision. But he still loves the bounce house so we had it for his birthday.  Which made him very happy.  

We invited Kartikey, Ryder, Landon and Zayden. Curtis and Carson were not able to join us so it was  a small group.  Halloween was postponed to the 2nd due to bad weather on the 31st. I thought going ToT would be a good way to break up the party. Unfortunately, it also broke up the friends because two of the did not come back afterwards.  But they had fun before we had to get ready. We had the Fortnight llama pinata, which I bought instead of stressing out making.  It did not last very long.  

We had a small cake, snacks and hot dogs for supper.  

But the best part was the bounce house.  They were on it the whole time.  

I was hanging out by the fire pit with other adults. It was our first fire and a rare time just sitting around talking to adults. With dogs wandering around and an adult beverage!! We burned the llama body

but the head was put on a pike to warn other llamas to stay away.  

Zayden left to get ready for Halloween and trick or treating with another friend.  Landon also left to get ready though we were going to his neighborhood to trick or treat. His mom was also going to be there and he wanted to spend some time with her before we went out.   The three remaining boys rakes leaves and had a good fall day in the leaves.  Tossing them

All dressed up and ready for candy.  Ryder was the T-Rex, cool but hard to walk in and see.  Landon was the Winter Soldier, Baylor was Agent 24 and Kartikey was a banana.  All good things. 

All the clothes were found at thrift stores, the gun was new and the briefcase was borrowed from Buddy.  A few older guys recognized who he was.  

After we were done trick or treating, I took the three boys back to our house.  They tried the bounce house but it was very cold so came inside and played Xbox and watched TV until they feel asleep.  

Round Up

Sunday was a lovely afternoon which I spend outside on the driveway.  

Jake stood guard on the table while I broke down pallets and burned a lot of rotten wood and sticks piling up by the compost.  It was a nice afternoon but a lot of bending and hard work with the pallets.  

After that was done, it was a lot of work making soup for supper.  That Baylor did not like anyway.  

Oh look, it is a train on our way in to COF this morning.  Lucky us.

We finally had snow!  And while it was not too much it was a horrible one to drive on.  Baylor was stuck at Kartikey's for the night.  I had to take Gloria to a Dr appointment so we dropped Baylor off there in the morning on our way.  School was cancelled for the day even though it did not start snowing until after 9.  By the time we left the appointment and headed to CVS for the prescription, the roads were already treacherous. I asked if I could pick up Baylor later in the evening when the roads should be cleared up and Greeva was fine with that.  I worked from home the rest of the day and Gloria worked on getting well. 

The dogs enjoyed the snow as well.  At least it was not raining and muddy. 

By evening the roads were worse and even Main Street was backed up.  People were stuck on 83 for several hours.  

We decided it would be best to not get Baylor and just have his spend the night there.  I planned to pick up the boys and take them to school in the morning.  

The morning was beautiful and the kids had a two hour delay!!  I was off of work because it was also Baylor's 10th birthday.  

While I was working from home yesterday I was also working on a little pallet sign!  I love when I can multi-task.  I wish I made the words larger but other than that, I am quite happy with it.  

I picked up the kids for school, which was a half a day and now a two hour delay and half an hour of the day was lunch.  I had planned to join Baylor for lunch for his birthday so I dropped them off and then parked the car to go inside for lunch.  

When school was over, I picked up both boys and we headed to Hoss's to surprise Baylor with a second lunch there with his grandparents.  He was surprised to see them there!  

We went home and they played in what was left of the snow.  

Ten years ago at this moment, this little man came into my life and changed it forever.  I am so happy he is my son and while not everyday has been sunshine and lollipops, parenting is hard sometimes, we have a great bond and love for each other.  He is a bit crazy, a bit sensitive, and almost always an all around good kid.  I don't know what the next few years will bring as he grows into his teens and young adult years but right now I am just enjoying this time!  

He requested Angel Food cake for his birthday cake.  He does love it.

Saturday morning the boys tried out Baylor's pogo stick Gloria got him.  They were really not sure what to do and played it pretty safe by only bouncing once and jumping off.  

Melting snow and warm sunshine mean more mud!!! The grass cannot keep up with the mud and the dog feet.  

Jake loves to be up high on something so he can patrol outside the fence better. 

Saturday afternoon we had Baylor's Birthday party at Play and Trade.  The kids all got to play game together or in small groups for over an hour and I think they had a good time.  Baylor asked for donations for the animal shelters or donations to his X-Box games fund.  He received both.

In the evening I watched a Harry Potter movie and worked on another pallet sign I had seen at a studio too far away to attend the class.  I think it turned out pretty good just eyeballing it.
