September starts the beginning of the end of Summer/Fall road trips to places we like to visit every year! We drove to Akron Friday after work and Nana Barbie and Papa Bob were also at mom's house for the night. They were there for a stop off on their way up to NH, where Bob is from. We had a nice dinner and turned in around 9. Baylor and I slept on the air mattress in the spare room upstairs so Barb and Bob could have the basement rooms. They left early in the morning and shortly there after we headed to the Whoopie Pie festival, which is definitely one of the tastiest places we go. Mom was supposed to go with us but ended up staying at home with a belly ache, from drinking with Barb! Since we were there shortly after it opened we had our choice of pies and ended up with ten tasty selections.
Baylor did the bounce house/obstacle course and played on the pirate ship again. He was excited to see all the cool things he could do, by himself, because he is so much older/bigger this year. He was very proud of himself! We walked around, visited the giant whoopie pie, did a relay race (which ended in tears because he was not understanding what he was to do and I kept trying to tell him which left him frustrated and angry) We headed out to get a drink and I thought they had smoothies, which was really snow cones. That added to his frustration. So we headed out to the car and he was so upset he didn't even want to take a picture with the buggy or the Amish man statue.
We took a long route home, by way of our old house in Millersville. I lived there from ninth grade to college graduation.
They really took out a lot of the lower branches on the oak tree. It looks odd to me because they used to be down to the gutter height on the house. I guess they wanted more light.
We went to Jack's for lunch, where I was saved by a strawberry smoothie!! This place has the best home cut fries, a huge pile for a little price! (actually the cost of a bag of potatoes at Aldi's but still super cheap).
He was out about five minuets from Mom's when he went out! It must have been a good day! It was for me.
