June Catch Up

Roxie must be shedding her winter coat because I almost brushed an extra dog out of her!

School is over!! He made it through third grade and is looking forward to summer and vacations.

Since it was Friday we took the dogs to daycare and stopped for a donut because it was also National Donut Day!

The school had an assembly and Baylor was being given an award.  I was not told what the award was and he did not know we would all be there.  Everyone came to support my little man.

Mr. Maxwell and Baylor is back there somewhere not knowing we are there.  And later with a bit of editing.

He saw us and was wondering why his family was all there.

So he received the Top Dog award, which is a new award in the school.

And Vanessa received an award as well.
My friend Nathan, he is just a sweetheart!  I sent the photos to his mom.

Since he is in fifth grade he walked through the school while the rest of the school clapped them out.

I am always glad to see when my dogs made the photo dump at CC.

Roxie and Nala, a dog park friend.

Jake and his bestie Sam.

He does love water so I was not surprised to see him in the pool.  Though he rarely gets in his pool at home.  It is more of a large water bowl for him and a place to rinse off everyone's feet before going inside (with a pool wash and refill of course).

And then the night time coma.

She is at it again!  Shedding like crazy!

But she is so cute, I cannot get upset with her at all.

This moth hung around the door for hours and hours.  I was afraid the dogs would see it on the door and it would be good bye my friend.  Thankfully, they did not take notice or if they did, just left it alone.

Howdy Ho Neighbors!

One of my favorite spring dinners is strawberry shortcake night. Baylor loves it as well.  What is not to love when dessert is your dinner!!

Surprise, it is a train, while we are on our way to COF and work.

Another good day for a swim. It is way to cold for me still but these two don't seem to mind at all.

Sunsets can be gorgeous, even on the opposite side of the sky.  The sun is behind me but this side was just as lovely.

The sun was actually setting over this way, though not quite as dramatic, still very lovely.

And a bit later, when the low sun was hitting the neighbor's barns and the rest of the world is fresh and green!

My Roxie got cooties, mouth warts actually.  She had two, one on either side of her mouth.  Apparently it is common in young dogs and very contagious.  She is not a year old yet and with Jake being older he may not get it at all.  I called her my Cootie Queen and pondered making her a shirt with it written in sparkling pink letters.

She looks like she is flirting with Sam!

And later Friday evening, crashed on the couch.  My favorite night of the week.

I made my first visit to Hobby Lobby, (I am not a fan of their politics but they do have amazing stores) and they already have Fall and Halloween stuff up.

And working on Christmas!!! It is June, please slow down!!

Our first fire of summer.  I hope there will be more! I stocked up on S'mores sticks in anticipation!

Gloria bought me a new smoker and had some friends of hers put it together for me.  Of course I had to try it out.  It is not as good or easy as my old kettle grill but it will work.

Though I completely ruined two racks of ribs running the smoker too hot.  They were burned and dried out.  Not a good Father's Day lunch at our house.

Sleeping in the sunshine.

Happy Father's Day selfie

At least I did not ruin dessert, cherry crumb pie and homemade butter pecan ice cream.

Jake playing in the sprinkler.  He is part water dog!!

I took Hollie to Jubilee Day in Mechanicsburg, We did some wandering around, bought lunch for us and Bob, and went back to the office to eat it.  We had a good time there!

Baylor was happy when I picked him up and had delicious Italian pasties like a lobster tail!

Good morning Lisburn!

Friday night comas

Baylor went ice skating with Ryder and while he did not love it, he did really well on the ice.  I hope he gets to try it again sometime.

Little beggars

Afternoon swim with Ryder and Jake.

So I had to redeem myself on the ribs and did another slab this weekend.  It was much better this time around but the new smoker is still a challenge for me.  Baylor helped to carve a flank steak. He has pretty good knife skills.

We celebrated Rusty's ,one of our dog park dog friends, birthday and they took photos of the dogs in party hats, if possible.   Roxie did well, Jake not so much.

He was more interested in playing than wearing hats.

Not a good way to start the morning, spilling peppercorns all over the stove top and floor.   Ugh!!

Two of my favorite dudes!

Two of my favorite dogs.

Hello Moon!  It is so hard to photograph well with a camera phone.  It rarely gets close to how amazing it looks.

Jake modeled and stuffed flower toy from BarkBox.  And then it was put away so he would not destroy it.

We made pizza on the grill for dinner and they turned out delicious.  Though I did not have pineapple on hand for Kartikey.

We also had a fire after dinner and roasted marshmallows.  Kartikey said he had never done that before and while he was not a super fan of them, he did eat one.

He is a goof ball and a happy dog! And we are happy we have him, as crazy as he is.

The pool is still too cold for me and a bit too cold for Kartikey at first.  That initial jump in was quite a shock!

While they swam and played, I filled up water balloons for later.

And then they had a great time soaking each other on the driveway.

Roxie has a sock, her favorite piece of clothing to find and destroy.

Baylor went to stay over and Kartikey's and had a yummy dinner there.  I am jealous!!
