Happy First Birthday Brigid

Today was Brigid's first birthday party. It is amazing how fast time flies when there are little one's birthdays to celebrate.  The numbers climb way to fast.  The theme was hot pink and black, in keeping with the theme Heather had for Brigid's room and all things Brigid.

Baylor is a budding photograher and took a few up close shots Mommy could not get due to her being on the floor surrounded by cousins and little friends.

We bought her a pony to ride because all little girls wish for a pony at some point.

Yummy cupcakes.

One of the take away items was a giant marshmallow on a stick with chocolate and sprinkles, right up Baylor's alley.  When I told him his lips were pink he told me he was a girl because they make their lips pink. He feel asleep not long after this and woke up with a pink girl mouth.

April Fool's Food Party

Every month at work we have a food day.  One person 'takes' a month, picks a theme, date etc, and posts a sign up sheet.  I picked April and a co-worker and I thought April Fools would be a perfect theme.  On the notice sign I also put that anything can be brought because in the end we just like to eat.  I did not have people sign up because it would ruin the surprise.  I was actually surprised at how many people participated and made fake out foods.

Edwin made hamburgers.

Vanilla wafers with sesame seeds, peppermint patty, green coconut and frosting.

And Baylor and I made hot dogs.

Shortbread cookie dough, red and yellow frosting and green coconut.

We also made spaghetti and meatball cupcakes.  Vanilla cupcakes, frosting colored to look like pasta, Roche chocolate for a meat ball, strawberry jam and white chocolate.

And two kinds of meatloaf cupcakes.  Danielle's were made with colored mashed potato frosting.

Tamela's had a cherry tomato and ketchup on mashed potato frosting.

I made a Day at the Spa taco dip I found on Pinterest.  It turned out great!

No one would eat her eyes and mouth and at one point she had a carrot cigarette in her mouth!

We had other dips, a lot of dips, a veggie tray, fruit tray, cooked shrimp, and a few other things I am missing but it was an excellent food day. Next year I think I am going to do Foods of Pennsylvania.  We had a lot of fun looking them up online and we all got hungry thinking about them all!

Getting Ready for Easter

I have been preparing several items for Easter and some were done very early in March when Lori and Baylor were visiting Meme and Pap. Little Man loves bath fizzies and I decided to make egg shaped fizzies with yellow yolks!

And on Pinterest I found how to make hedgehogs out of car wash mitts found at the Dollar Tree or dollar section at Target.  I lugged out the sewing machine for the first time in three years and got acquainted with my old friend again.

Baylor had to go to the sitters for two half days this week and we made some treats to take in.  He started with me and very soon lost interest and went to finish watching Finding Nemo.

Colored coconut for grass.

Chocolate covered corn flakes.

Add eggs or Peeps to finish.

Nothing like chocolate before bedtime.
