Before and After: Bathroom

Gloria wanted to redo the half bath and the main bathroom into one large bathroom.  While I liked having two toilets upstairs, she won out.  Over a week and a half the old bathrooms were torn out and one large one was built in its place.  I had to take down all the towel hooks and the cabinet over the toilet.

Grimm loves the tub!

The shelf over the door revealed the three colors we have painted the bathroom in the ten years.  Two shades of lavender and the Open Seas.

The torn down the wall between the two bathrooms and had to move the plumbing for the tub and the toilet.

The old access panel in Baylor's closet to the back of the old tub.

The door to my old bathroom in Baylor's room.

The new tub in place.

The tub surround and new dry wall.

The first coat of my new favorite color, Dragonfly.

Nearly done.  Loo, cabinet and vanity installed.

All done!

The tub is huge and Baylor can swim in it!  But we love it and it turned out very nice.

Let there be Laughter and Light

Baylor was playing in his bubble bath and was making beards. He is such a cutie pie and I love laughing with him!

March 30 we had what I hope is our last snow.  It was more of sleety accumulation but it was enough.

Enough especially because as long as it stayed cold, I could not get my window put in.

But on April 1st I finally had my window back. And other than looking onto the neighbor's driveway I love having my light back.

Grimm was the first to start spying on the Brown's but I don't think he will bother them too much. The builder's came back mudded, sanded, and painted.  It looks very nice in there again.

We Have a Floor

So the boys picked out a nice tile. Friday they put it in and we were not able to walk on it until Sunday morning.  That meant a lot of running outside and down the outside cellar stairs to get to the rest of the house from the living room.

Monday the grouted and we now have a tile floor in the kitchen.

I went back to Marshalls and bought the shower curtain I liked better.  I moved the Ikea one downstairs and I do like this one better.

While the fridge was pulled out I decided to clean it off.  I love our magnets, photos, art work, and all the other stuff but I was too much.  It looks odd without all its bits and bobs but I like it at least right now.

And while the stove was in the dining room I made dinner in the electric skillet grilled cheese and tomato soup heated in the microwave.

The window is framed out but they won't be able to put it in until it is over 60 degrees. So I cannot put everything away or move it around because they need the room to get around and to repaint everything.

But the kitchen was put back together on Tuesday.

It has been a long process and shifting stuff and stuff sitting everywhere is getting tiresome.  But we like the results.

No more back door

When Baylor and I got home we found the old back door was finally removed and new it is just a door opening.  We will have to keep an eye out for the cat now, more options to try to run.  It is weird not having to open that door!

The put in the window in the bathroom today. I do love the light now in that room.

We took a few photos to show Meme if we go visit this weekend.

New carpet waiting to be laid.

The attic space is not insulated and Gloria is going to use it for a beer cooler!  Baylor would love to have it as his play room but in a year he would not be able to stand in there!
