Round Up

Another night spent at the dog park.  We were there early enough to catch Bean.  We both love Bean, he is a good dog and they play well together.

And with Storm and Sam.

And Starskey.

He is a butt most of the time but I love him.

He even helps me with the tree trimming.  I was trimming the low branches and he was chipping them up for me.  Nothing like a good stick to chew on!

When Tara was here on Saturday I found a drown juvenile praying mantis in the pool. Tara very kindly offered to bury it in the planter and made it a lovely headstone.  She gets it and me.  I am glad she is my friend.

Tuesday morning at work we learned RB was hit by the global cyber-attack and after sitting around for two hours not able to open our computers, we were sent home.  Which is fun seeing what the pets do when I am not around.  Grimm likes to sun himself.

Jake likes to steal brand new shoes and chew on them.  Brand new shoes that were purchased because he chewed up my pair I had for about eight years!  I tied the elastic together but now the shoes are pretty tight. My double wide feet need as much room as I can give them.

Working from home again today.  Not much I can do but answer emails saying we have not system access but I can access my emails to answer your email letting you I cannot tell you anything.  So between those fun emails I piled up the remaining dog beds to put in the attic.  Jake finds them to be nice chew toys but he found them in the hallway and used them properly.  They still went into the attic when he was done napping.

Evenings are spent at the dog park, even when he is not in the crate all day because I am home working.  He loves making a mud pit with his own water dish he takes over.

Starskey has a similar look to Rosie but Rosie is much cuter of course.  But they both have beautiful blue eyes.

This cat, lounging on the couch.  He has a rough life for sure.

Working from home is pretty boring so I had fun sending Snaps to my mom.

Since I still had to drive into town to drop Baylor off at Summer Camp I got to meet the train on my way back to my home office.

Another morning at home.

This dog can go from sleeping on the couch all day to driving me nuts chasing after him.  Good thing he is cute. Even upside down.

I do love a lovely sky.  And on the last day of June to boot.

My Playdate

I went to the dog park late morning because I wanted to get some of Jake's energy out before our guests arrived.  Jake met Dipper who is smaller than him but they had a good time wrestling and playing.

Tara let me know she was close so we headed home quickly.  Which is right around the corner.

It was a nice day, not too hot and miserable but I had made frozen treats for the dogs to play with.

Even Rosie got some ice.  This was our first time meeting Rosie and she did really well meeting Jake and getting along with him.

Baylor and Lucas went in the pool right away while I worked on lunch.  It was nice enough to eat outside, which was also good so we could keep an eye on the boys and I could keep an eye on Jake.

Rosie held her own and seemed to enjoy playing with Jake.  He can be a rough wrestler and I did not want him to become a butt head with her.  But they had a good time and I did not see any issues with them at all!

It has been a long time since we have seen each other and while we did not get to really sit and talk much, kids, food, dog distractions, we had a nice visit!  And a nice swim with the boys.

After they left to go home I worked out in the garage on a project I started about two weeks after we adopted Jake.  I have been gathering really nice pallets from a landscaping company and I wanted to make a raised feeding bench for Jake.  All I managed to do in April was cut the holes for the bowls and it has been sitting the garage ever since.  Well, it is now done and he is getting used to it.  We still have a small water dish on floor for Grimm but he got up on the bench for a swim in the water dish already.

I feel good about using the wood (see Gloria, I do use things I hoard) and I feel good about making it myself. Even though I can buy an Amish made one for less than $30.00!  I only had to buy the screws for this project.

My Week in Pictures

Monday was my first day back at work and in the afternoon we had a tornado watch in the area.  The entire building had to come to the front office and stay away from all the windows.  For the warehouse workers, at least it was air conditioned.  We were probably all together for a half hour or so until the watch was cleared.  Thankfully Baylor had no idea that it happened because tornadoes are one of he greatest fears.

Eddy was really good at carrying her dinner bowl around but she had to learn how to do it.  She had a few spills as a young dog and so is Jake as he is learning the tricks of moving a bowl of food with no hands.

My friend the train!

I took a chance on this toy and it lasted about five minutes before he had a hole in it.  No more Jake, no more soft toys for you.

Dog park fun, a three way tug with Bella, Storm, and Jake.  It did not end in a fight and they looked like they were having a good time with it.

I am always happy when he is content and tired from playing with his friends.

Many nights we go to the park and play and get dirty.  Then we go to the creek to play and wash off.  Then we take a walk to drip dry before going home.  Tonight was the first day of Summer and that was how Jake and I spent it together.

Beautiful sunrise today!

And the next day had a wonderful evening sky of bright blue and large puffy clouds.

Jake was calm enough to be on the couch with Baylor to watch a movie together.  We hope for more times like this in the future but for now we will take them when we can get them.

I made an afternoon trip to the dog park and Abby was there.  She has not been going as much lately due to some new found aggression but her and Jake played well with each other like old times.  He does have certain dogs I would say are his good friends and she is one of them.
