Daylight Savings

I woke up at what I thought was 5:20 because I changed my clock before going to bed.  I heard Gloria getting ready and she is usually out of the house at that time so I got up to check the clocks in the kitchen because I changed them too.  They all said 4:20.  Apparently my clock changes itself.  And now I was up and so was Eddy and Grimm.  Baylor was not coming home until much later in the day so I kept busy with usual stuff: laundry, dishes and other cleaning.  I took a short break on the bench at some point and Grimm came over looking for treats.  He looks like he is a starving cat, especially from this angle. 

Baylor came home around lunch time and we seriously spent the rest of the day on the couch watching Harry Potter movies.  He wanted to watch the last one and I talked him into watching them all in order before we watch the ending.  I have never seen the last two movies myself and I was looking forward to seeing the movies in order. He is doing well keeping up with them but I still have to help him out with plot lines and names.  We did not move from our places all afternoon and he fell asleep on the couch at 7:10 and finished The Half-Blood Prince by myself.  We may need to watch that one again because he missed most of it.  We took a few dark selfies to send to Mama. I rarely sit still for that long and was only able to because I am working on embroidery pieces for a gift for Heather.  But it was a good thing and good time with my little man. 

 

Love is Love

Today the Supreme Court ruled basically there is nothing stopping LGBT marriage in all the states.  It is a good thing!!! 

Funny story:  a co-worker who is a vegatrian read the lable on these chips to see if they were made with real hot dogs.  I just rolled my eyes, but retold the story the next day to Jarrett.  

And Bob picked up this bag of snacks and said, "and these are made with real fire!"  

I cannot stop giggling about it!  

Summer Hair and Swimming

Tuesday Gloria took Baylor to the Barber for a hair cut.  It has been quite some time since he had it done and it was nearly in his eyes.  He wanted to wait until it was past his eyes but we thought otherwise.  Gloria sent me the before (showing his angry eyes for having to wait)

and after.  Just as handsome as ever!! 

A swimming class he loves to run up the stairs, look over the wall, and wait for me to hobble up after him. And sometimes I get a love face for my efforts.

I finally started using Instagram which is fun choosing all the different filter options.  

Swimming class was four nights a week for two weeks and our neighbor Riley had class at the same time.  She asked us why Baylor wore a different suit at each class.  My only answer is the boy has more clothes than me!!  Some are from the last two years and some were bought ahead and are just fitting him this year.  I have been finding random twos and threes in the drawer.  I give them to a co-worker with a two year old.

I was taking the photo of the clouds and sky and this lovely bird made his way onto the photo.  I love it!  

Baylor has always loved using the basement doors as a slide and part of his play.  We have never had any accidental falls for which we thank the Luck of the Praying Mantis, or something like that.  

Another night of lessons and another suit combination.  Wednesday was the first night the whole swimming thing kicked in;  head down, blowing bubbles, kicking and paddling at the same time.  He was not swimming without the teacher right there but Dan let go of him and just followed until Baylor struggled.  He ran up to me after class and was so excited to tell me he did it.  

But when he left, he made sure he was Superman, cape and all.  

Friday was the last night of class and we were out of swimming shirts.  

But we had goggles for this class.  When he is under water the first thing he does when he comes up in stop to wipe off his eyes.  He is never going to swim if he is stopping to do that so the teacher suggested we try the goggles.

There is that smile!  He had the goggles on his eyes when he needed them but for the kick board he was good with them on his forehead.  Swimming with a smile, that is his M-O. 

All the kids love the big boards, the teachers spin them around as fast as they can while the kids hang on.

Thursday was his last class and he passed Level I and was so excited to go on to Level II.  He thought he would have class the next night.  He asked when the call Level II, will he get to go with that teacher now?  I had to explain I had to look at the schedule to see when we could get him in a Level II.  He told both of his teachers it was the best day ever.  I was so proud of my little budding swimmer.  

My New Noisy Maker

Gloria went out and replaced my noisy maker, and I got an upgrade!!!  (Love her)  

It is a six quart bowl, professional series model.  Very Fancy!  

The Last Day of April 2014

I have decided to start making our bread.  I am not a bread eater really but I don't like all the chemicals they put in bread and it is not really hard to make.  I found a simple recipe online and made up the dough after work.  I put the dough in the bread pans and then in the fridge to rise over night.  I baked the bread in the morning before work and it turned out wonderfully delicious. It rise in the cold refrigerator make for a denser loaf and we liked that. 

We also had quite a bit of rain during the night.  My rain gauge is cracked and I need to buy a new one but it is still holding water for now.  April showers bring May flowers so I am happy for the rain.

Gloria wanted her hair colored when I got home from work and Baylor wanted me to play with him.  Our compromise was he helped me with Mom's hair and when we were done I would play with him.  He was my color assistant and squeezed the color onto her hair while I combed it in.

My plan worked beautifully and in the end everyone got what they needed out of the evening; Mom had pretty hair and Baylor got to play, eventually.  

Christmas Photo Shoot

I needed to get my photos organized for the Christmas card and Lori helped me out this year.  Baylor played the part of Santa and was just a joy to watch him listen to his friends Christmas wishes and have their photos taken with Santa.  Eddy was a good sport about the whole thing also.  

Our tree is very simple this year.  Baylor pronouced it done with all the lights, a few gold bead strands, candy canes and a new gold star for the top like on Polar Express.  

As usual I monkeyed around trying out different cards online and ended up getting five different styles and six cards because one had the same back ground with a different photo.  He is so darn cute that it is hard to not get all the cards because I hate to delete them!
