Fall Party at Lower Allen Elementary

So yes, today I went to Baylor's school for the Fall party but I also went to work with my dress us stuff in case anyone wanted to dress up for some photos.  I had to demonstrate some of the items to get people interested and it worked. Not my best look so it will not be a FB profile photo, LOL! 

My work wife Bob really enjoyed rooting through the bins to find some creative looks.

Kathy came out for some fun as well.  

And then I headed over to the school.  We helped finish dressing the kids into their costumes so they could have a parade through the school and then outside where the parents and grandparents were waiting with their cameras.  

Then we took off the costumes and put them away.  We had the snacks first which were ghost bananas and ghost string cheese, the marshmallow pops graham bandages, and apple juice.  The kids enjoyed them all. After snack we did a make your own monster craft with lots of bits and bobs to create a unique monster.  Baylor kept it simple with a spider sticker and some pom poms.  

Seeing all the kids doing their crafts reminded my why I did not become an art teacher.  I was right, 20 kids with glue sticks is frightening!  But in the end they did well as they are well trained by Mrs Murray to listen to her instructions.  

It was fun seeing the kids in their element and meeting some of the kids he talks about.  

Zayden's mom came up with the monster craft and he was a monster making expert. 

I had made a flannel pumpkin with felt noses for a pin the nose on the pumpkin game.  I think it turned out as I was hoping it would.  The spray glue my be on the top of the washer until the end of time but it was worth it.  

Caden's mom worked with the kids on the pumpkin game and the kids seemed to enjoy it.

Kaleigh's mom brought the pumpkin bowling which was also a hit.  

After the games we had time for Halloween bingo and I called the characters for the game.  We played until everyone had at least one Bingo.  By then it was time to get going as the school day was nearly over for the kids.  Poor Baylor became really sad when I had to leave and he had to stay at school and go to day care afterward. It made me sad to leave him as well but we gave each other big cuddles and his friends came to his side to say they would stay with him and keep him happy.  Awww!  Sweet little boys are amazing to see.  

But back at work it was hard to focus when the wigs were calling!  I did a lap around the office to see if anyone was paying attention.  Some people did. Sadly, some did not.  

After I pick Baylor up from COF and we had our evening he crashed on the couch.  Since it was Friday and I wanted to watch some TV, I stayed in place for a few shows.  Grimm joined us and eventually was all stretched out on Baylor and Baylor had no idea Grimm was there,   My sweet boys! 

Trick or Treat

Even though last year the township said they would have TOT on Halloween, they scheduled it for October 30th this year.  It was a good think I told Mandy because she was planning on taking the girls on Friday.  We met over at their yard as usual for a few photos and to run over to Kitty's across the street.  Baylor was a red Power Ranger. 

Natalie was a red Devil. 

And they played while we were waiting for Natalie, aka Dorothy, to arrive from inside the house.  She managed not to land on any witches this time.  

They kids will not stop growing!

One of the kids looked down and noticed they all were wearing red shoes.  Go figure.

We rushed across the road to visit Kitty.  I am sure we are the only treaters she gets and she enjoys seeing the kids every year.  

We drove up to the neighborhood as usual and hit more houses this year than any other year.  The weather was really nice so we did not have to rush off because we were freezing.  But around 7 Baylor was asking to be done and I knew we still had to drive up to visit Ms Terri and her parents.  They also do not get any treaters and look forward to Baylor showing up.  Her parents live with her and I think they really appreciated us stopping by.  Baylor is pretty comfortable around them so he was not hiding behind me or Gloria.  Terri is a crazy cat lady and Baylor loves her cats too.  It was a good night and lots of candy for sure.  

Before and After: Sauerkraut

I started this on 8/31 with cabbage I bought at the Green Dragon when I went shopping with my dad.  He likes kraut too so I am sure he will enjoy it also.  The large cabbage was over seven pounds and the small one was almost five pounds.  

I shredded them, salted them, mashed them up with my hands and pounded them into the two quart jars I had. 

I put them in the corner of the counter to work their magic for a month.  I gave one to Dad and I left one on the counter for another month.  The third one I ate some and put the rest in the refrigerator.  It turned out really good!   

Halloween Parade at COF

Friday afternoon was the Halloween parade at COF.  It was a bit drizzly so they had to hold it inside which was a bit of a downer.  They kids walked through the building stopping at parents with treats.  It was fun seeing the boys in line in their costumes.  Ryder went with a hockey theme this time and Carson was the Red Angry bird.  

Zayden stuck with Iron Man.

Ashton was a green ninja.  There were only five boys as Caden was out sick for part of the week and Landon and Marcus are in the afternoon kindergarten program as well.  

Mrs Karen was a beautiful Elsa. 

Even the babies were dressed and out on the parade.  They were so precious to see in the stroller with their parents and grandparents snapping away with their cameras or phones.  

  

With the extra candy they did a candy toss and broke up the kids roughly into two age groups.  

Baylor definitely came home with plenty of candy!  

Eddy woke me up really early in the morning and I could not fall asleep.  I decided to use my time wisely and made some treats for the Fall party at kindergarten on Friday.  They were hardening up all during the day and I remembered to take a photo before packing them up.  Baylor loves the chocolate covered marshmallows on pretzel sticks. I hope the other kids do as well.
