Mom called me earlier in the week to tell me about something they saw on TV that she thought Baylor would be into: a dinosaur show at the Farm Show complex. Well, she was right!! I told him we were going shopping and he moped and cried about why do we have to leave? I hate shopping! He was so worried about having to go shopping that he did not notice where we were. But I guess since we never park in the actual parking lot, it was not familiar to him. He was super excited when I told him we would be going to see dinosaurs!!
In the area where we would usually eat fries and a chocolate shake, we instead were funneled around by cloth walls to different exhibits. Right at the starting 'gate' they took a photo of everyone on a blue screen that would later show you being attached by a T-Rex. While we waited in line they had these dinos for the kids to sit on for photo opts.
The place was fairly dark and dinosaur noise was everywhere. Some exhibits had buttons to push to make the dinos move and roar.
But most of them did not move, they were still and lite with colored lights. They had signs with the name and description of the dinosaurs. Baylor knew most of them on sight.
He walked right up to the yellow one can said Ova-raptor, and he was right.
This was just a big head, life size I would guess. One boy who was at it totally freaked out when he was up there. I guess it did not help that the T-Rex that moved and roared was right on the other side of the curtain. I am sure he thought it was this one coming to life!

They had fossil boxes which were raised sand boxes with brushes to swipe away the sand off the fossils embedded in the boxes. Someone left some fossil popcorn which I am sure the dinosaurs loved with their movies.
I paid the extra money for the slides and such in the back.

He was pretending to be a T-Rex with two fingers not a super rock star which is what he looks like to me!
They had four of these ride on dinosaurs. Their heads rotated in circles and caused the kids to move around. Their jaws moved and arms wiggled but that did not affect the kids too much.
He liked riding the carnivores over the herbivores. I guess the lure of the dangerous is strong. Who would want to play it safe on a plant eater anyway?
He went into the toddler area that has many colored sit-on dinosaurs. He sat on them all and gave a high five to the one at the door.
After the play area we walked back through to make sure we saw everyone and shopped the 'gift' shop. He picked out a stuffed Stegosaurus and two sets of small dinos that we do not have.

We caught the last 10 minutes of a movie that had the paleontologist we know from Dinosaur Train on PBS. Baylor said that was the shortest movie he ever watched but was not interested in staying until it started over again.
Steggy got to ride a dinosaur on the way out. Who would have thought?
It was a good way to spend our morning and I am glad we were able to make it there!
