Swimming and Tubing!

We were back to the pool in the morning and this time Jaydon was there. So it was just the two boys and Mr Nate.

Baylor was a rock star, but a very floaty rock star as he cannot swim to the bottom of the four foot end of the pool. He cannot get his butt down, it keeps floating to the top.

But the rest of the time, he does really well. Ok, I did laugh at him when Mr Nate had him floating on his back and trying to do the back stroke.  He is about as coordinated as I am and was flailing all about.  But it was his first attempt so I know he was not going to get it on the first try.

We went home, had lunch and suited up to go tubing.  Gloria's work gave the employees passes again this year and of course we went.  Gloria was worried about getting hurt so she stayed on the deck talking with some work friends while Baylor and I stood in the 40 minute line to tube.

We ending up going on four runs, each with at least a 40 minute wait in line.  But the line was always moving so it did not seem that long.  Well, for Baylor it did at times.

The lanes were hard packed snow and super slick so they were running so fast.  People who were not slowing down would come flying past the end and crash into other people trying to get out of the way.  Baylor and I went down together, me holding on to his tube and him squealing in delight the whole way down.  I loved listening to his laugh and 'WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"  One time we yelled out to Momma so she would see us go.

Baylor made sure he had boy colored tubes, especially when he could not get an orange one.

The club house where Momma was sitting on the deck.

I hope this summer Baylor and I will take advantage of their summer fun they have there.  They have the OGO balls while I think would be fun for him.  He did great the whole time, being patient in the lines and having so much fun on the tubing runs.  I love making memories with this little guy!!

Another Snow Day

We woke up to another call from the Superintendent cancelling school due to snow.  And it was quite a snow!!  So I decided to work from home because if I did not have to take him to day care, then I wasn't going to go in to work myself.  Gloria was off too so we had a family day. Well, they had a family day and I worked at the table for most of it.  But for breakfast we had plenty of time to make fun pancakes.  We made a bunny. a mouse and Jack Sparrow.  Or so the Pancake Master said he was.

I stopped working around 4 to go out to clean off the driveway.  I was not looking forward to shoveling about 6 inches of snow and Eddy looked like she was done with it as well.

Baylor being six thinks snow is still pretty amazing.  And being off school is pretty amazing as well.

All I could see was the snow piled on the cars and driveway and wanted to just turn around and hope it melted over night.

Baylor was ready for swimming class and took a swim in the snow.

Well, to make a long story short, the snow blower would not start and I had to shovel most of the driveway around the cars and Mr Doug kindly used his snow blower to clear off the top of the driveway for us.  There was enough room for us to get out and since Friday was to be in the 50's we left it at that.

Winter will end some day. I just know it.

The Cold Never Bothers Us Anyway, At least if the Sun is Shining

The snow fell all night and we had about 4 inches by morning.  When I was running the tap I thought the water was super cold.  I took its temperature and it was just under 50 degrees.  Now I am not sure how cold it is usually but I would think it is usually higher than that.

Being Sunday, Gloria was not around to help with the snow removal.  And I don't use the snow blower so it is all pushing and shoveling for me.

Baylor was off playing with the girls.

And Grimm was stalking us from the living room window.

I tried to get the kids to pose for my but you know how they are....

Nearly there.  Thankfully the sun was out so after the driveway was showing, it started to melt a bit.

The snow was a good snow ball rolling snow and the kids were building snow people everywhere.

Finally I was done!  And tired.  But the kids were still building snow people so I looked around the yard for some decorations.

And I found my first praying mantis egg casing.  I fell blessed to know we will have little mantis again this year.

Mandy asked the girls to build a family of snow people along the field.  She does love to direct their play!

But I think the botanical bits added to their personality.  She has Pippy Longstocking pony tails.

He does love playing in the snow and is not above crawling in the snow.

He built his own snowman in the field.

With a smiling stick mouth.

And when we came inside, he had hot cocoa with marshmallows and whipped cream!
