Easter Sunday

Morning was busy getting ready for Easter dinner and family coming in. Meme and Pap slept in as is usual when they are here. We must have a comfy spare room.  While making up the relish tray I found a rare conjoined pickle!  An Easter Miracle for sure.

I wanted to sent a photo to Jamie of our Easter day but we could never get a good shot.

The Easter Buddy hid the eggs outside while the ladies of the house, the grandmas, kept the little guy busy.  We let him know the bunny had arrived and off he went.  The Easter haul.  Somebunny is well loved.   I found some really giant eggs at Hobby Lobby and put a large Lego set in the big green one.  The Easter Buddy said the large eggs are hard to hide  and I said Baylor does not care if they are easy to find, he just likes finding them.

Again tried to get a family shot to send to Jamie and Laura and Jason but nothing was working out well.

Though I did catch a rare photo of Gloria and I.

Greeva sent me a picture of a busy Kartikey working on his painting.  I cannot wait to see it when we go over next time.

Easter Eve

The boys slept in until almost 8, Baylor getting up first right after taking this picture of them and sending it to Greeva.

I made waffles for breakfast, which Kartikey has never had.  He was not the fan of them that Baylor is but thankfully I had fresh pineapple as well. I offered yogurt and a few other items but he said he was fine with a waffle nibble and the pineapple. Baylor horked down his waffle in no time!  The boys played until Akshat came for Kartikey around 10:30.  Greeva's family was in from NJ to celebrate Holi so he was not staying as long as we had originally planned.  I was hoping the boys would do some paintings and color eggs again this year but I ended up sending his canvas home for him to paint there.  He has taken art classes as well and has water colors at home.

Joey brought Landon over about two hours later to work on his bike riding.  He cannot ride with training wheels and we have a great place to ride.  I parked my van in the grass so we would have the entire driveway. I talked to Baylor about being encouraging with Landon while he learns to ride and not to be too bragging about him riding his new big bike.  Baylor was a good friend and very encouraging with him.  Joey left to go finish up Easter shopping and the boys brought out the army and the dinosaurs for a war in the driveway.

But then a Dogasaurous Rex walked by!

The lines were drawn: Dinosaurs to the South

Army to the North. And then they moved on to something else.

I kept Eddy out with me to get some sunshine on her old bones and try to get some photos of her.  One of her back with her left fat tumor leg and her right scrawny chicken leg.

I think she worries about the camera flash and tries her best to not look at me at all.  Sometimes I get a nice profile of her.

At some point Landon decided to try the loop, with a disastrous end because he had no idea how to break.  The back end of the loop is down hill, He just threw his feet off the peddles and basically leaned off the bike in his panic.  I had hollared at Baylor to run after him once I realized what was about to happen. Thankfully he his mostly in the grass but landed on his hip pretty hard.  He let me pick him up and hold him while we walked up to the grass.  We checked his hip and there were no scrapes or blood so we decided on a freezy pop to take the sting off.

We decided to go to the park and were just getting ready to go when Meme and Pap pulled in.  Meme went with us to the park because all the walking she needed to do was to the bench.  Being a good daughter-in-law, we took a selfie that I put on FB.

The boys played for about a half hour.  I saw a little boy there by himself, his parents left him to play to go to the smoking area.  I told Baylor to go ask him to play hide and seek which they did.  I had to help the boy find them because he really had no idea what they looked like.  After the boy left I went to get the juice boxes from the van.  Joey had gone to the house to pick up the bike and was walking up when I was on my way back with the juice.  We all went our separate ways and it was a good day for Baylor to have two friends to play with.

Back at the house Baylor was watching TV with Meme in the basement and I was trying to crochet Easter egg cosies when Grimm stole my egg.

Then he went off the lay down with Eddy.  I love seeing them together and it was funny when Grimm looked over to Eddy and made a silent meow to her.

I then went down to check on Baylor and Meme around 4:30 and he wanted to cuddle with me. Within minutes he was asleep!! It was a short night and busy day.  I carried him up to bed and put him down.  He slept about two hours and when he woke up Meme and I went to see Dave at his part time job at GNC.  I ran in to Giant for one thing and then placed our order at the pizza shop.  We finished visiting with Dave, picked up the pizza and subs, and headed home.  I dropped off the food in the basement where they were watching a movie and went upstairs.  Not long after I sat down he came upstairs crying.  As I held him trying to figure out what was wrong, he said it was the shortest day ever, like five minutes long.  He didn't get to do anything.   He did not want pizza for breakfast.  Basically he woke up from a nap in bed, walked out to the kitchen and scared me(like about every morning) and he thought he had slept until Sunday.  It took a lot of convincing that he had just taken a long nap and it was still Saturday.  After eating, one piece of pizza and some veggies, he was ready to color eggs with Meme, who I think has been here for just about every egg coloring event we have had with him.  He really just wants to use the bunny egg tongs but the egg coloring was fun as well.  Regardless of what he thought about an hour ago, it was a long, busy and fun day!

Good Friday was a Good Friday

Baylor was off school for Good Friday and COF was closed as well so I worked from home because I did not have anywhere to take him.  It is a bit easier working from home now than when he was younger but it is still more work. But I get to make pie while working so it did work out well.

And I did not burn it like I did at Christmas.

Landon and Joey came over around 12:30 and picked up Baylor to take him back to their house to play until I was off work.  We were able to log off at 3:00 if our work was done so I was able to have about an hour of free time before heading out to pick him up.  After getting him at Landon's we went to Kartikey's and picked him up for a sleepover at our house.  We headed to Sky Zone and meet Gloria there.  She watched them jump for a bit and then headed home to go to bed.  The boys had a great time in the foam pit but I know they would have just loved playing in the pit together and not having to crawl out.

They found two tampolines together and jumped around and off the walls.  Kartitkey takes gymnastics classes and had more skills than Baylor but I was surprised at Baylor running up the walls.

I love this one of Kartikey and sent it to his mom.

The joined some older kids playing dodge ball and for the first round did really well not getting out.  They really just bounced on the back trampoline staying out of the way of the balls.  The boy is the grey shirt was really nice with them and all the boys were good about two 7 years olds joining the game.

The second round did not end as well for Baylor.  He was not the original target but ended up taking one right in his left eye.  Not the ball shown above, that went behind him.  But it was a hard throw and he ran out to me crying.  One kid told the thrower that he can't hit kids in the face.  But I know he was not trying for that and honestly, it is all fun and games until some one loses an eye. Many of the kids checked on him and patted him on the back in good sportsmanship.  The boys had been bouncing for a good half hour and were sweaty and nothing cheers up a hurt kid than a blue raspberry icee.

Because who does not love a blue tongue.

They took about a 10 minute break and finished their jumping hour.  We had some time to kill before going to the movie so they picked some dippen' dots type ice cream.  It is a good thing sugar does not explode their systems.

We headed to the theater to see Zootopia and still had some time to kill so they hunted bison until it was time to find a seat.  Where they ate sour patch kids until the sour got to them and made me put them away.

The movie was out after 8 and they played video games and wrestled off and on until I made them go to bed at 11:15.  Within ten minutes they were at the foot of my bed:  Baylor was afraid of the dark and Kartikey was afraid of being murdered which made Baylor even more afraid.  So they both ended up sleeping with me.  Thank goodness for a king sized bed.

Round Up

3-20

The first day of Spring was calling for snow and while it stayed cold all day, there was not snow.  Baylor went to Ryder's house to play in the afternoon and I made red beet hummus, zucchini and carrot noodles with white bean 'al fredo' sauce.  And I mopped the floors!

3-21

Baylor likes to swing from the clothesline posts.  One day soon he will be able t get up there by himself.

A bit of Spring Yellow

The Full Moon on the Rise

3-22

Baylor wanted to perform tonight. He read some poems he wrote and did some interpretive dance for me. It was amazing and fun.

I love the moon rising over the hills, and that this tree is finally starting to look like a tree again.

My sister in law sent me some photos of Presley opening her Easter package.  I sent a sand bucket, several bubbles, small plastic basket filled with eggs, a bag of Easter goldfish, a large windup hopping peep, large eggs filled with candy for her parents, and several books. They said she liked the bubbles and the hopping peep a lot.  I wish we could see her for the holiday so sending stuff is my next best option!

3-23

I received a message from Greeva this morning on Whatsapp wishing me a Happy Holi.  I love learning about her holidays and that she includes me in her holiday wishes.

I love his face but will be glad when that tooth grows in.  It has finally just broken through the gums!

Some out takes from the same 'photo session'.

The moon, it calls to me whenever it can.

3-24

I added the hard cooked eggs to the pickled beets.  And I found out steam cooked eggs really do peel really well!!

Early morning selfie.

Confirmation to Tara that I have penned in her date for a visit in May.

The 24th is the anniversary of our Adoption Day.  Gloria usually celebrates with Baylor doing something together to celebrate her Mother's Day.  Well, she had to work later that 4:00 so they could not go to Sky Zone which is what they had planned.  He packed himself a dinner and was having a personal picnic when Gloria came home and joined him.  I brought out my dinner and Eddy and we joined them.  Gloria had picked up fast food on her way home.

She is not fast but she will still try to sneak your food if it is something she likes. She loved the marshmallows but not the apples.
