11-6
It was a pretty quiet day spent at home. I rented a carpet cleaner and spent the morning cleaning the carpets in the living room and bedroom. It did not take long to dry and the carpets did look better. The water was gray, yuck! In the afternoon I needed to get outside and so did Baylor. We played in the leaves for a bit and then I wandered off to dig out the horseradish plants. We have had a few frosts but not a killing frost but I had the time to dig so I did. And then Baylor came over to help me.
I taught him how to jump on the shovel which he enjoyed practicing.
It was quite a large harvest, but of mostly small, narrow roots. They are a pain to peel but taste just the same.
And then he wanted to help me cut off the stems. I should have brought down a cutting board but I did not know he was going to help when I grabbed the knife. He did pretty good and did not cut himself or the table.
After Gloria got home and we had dinner, I worked on processing the roots. I ended up with nearly two full quarts of horseradish and it was strong enough to make my eyes water a few times. I need to find some small jars or freezer containers so I can share the bounty. Gloria will never eat all that!
Day 17
And I found a few ripe strawberries in the patch. They were not edible mainly due to bug damage or from being stepped on while we were digging up the horseradish but since odd to see in November!
11-7
Day 18, with a setting sun sky thanks to the end of daylight savings.
I went to Big Lots and picked up a creepy cat for Heather. I had told her about them at her party and she said she would like one. It was 75% off and only $5.00. Baylor hated it when the eyes were red and it yowls and chatters but Grimm seemed to want to know if it was going to steal his treats.
My new favorite App: Prisma. Fun artsy photo filters.
Meghon was worried her cats were getting fat, because our cousin Melony told her they were. I sent her a photo of what a fat cat looks like!
11-8
I could not figure out where the light reflections on the side of the house came from this morning.
While at work I made the mistake of looking at Petfinder. Bad, bad idea.
Baylor wanted to vote with me so we went after work. There were no lines and no haters outside but lots of signs, and not the ones I liked.
While I made the selections, I let him hit the Vote and the Confirm buttons. We made our choice and left it to the rest of the population to make theirs. I was 851 in the M-Z line. I always like to know my number.
Day 19 with a Baylor on the swing, we got home only 15 minutes later than usual and that is with voting and the detour.
I had to make some baked goods for a bake sale at work so I spent the night up in the kitchen. Gloria was down with Baylor most of the time but went off to bed before him. When I was done and had cleaned up it was about 7:40 so I went downstairs to spend some time with him. He was fast asleep on the couch! I had forgotten he woke up around 5:30 again!
11-9
Woke up (at 3 am) to sad news on the election. Not what I was hoping to happen for sure but that is how it works. But life goes on and I had baking to due. I made Churro cookies but did not get to try them. There were just enough to put three in the bags and no extra. But there were not any left over after lunch so they must have been at least appealing.
Day 20
My final thought for the day, after I removed Facebook from my phone for a while, I will continue to love my son, hug him everyday and teach him to love and to be kind.
11-10
There is a table at the day care for people to kind of swap items or unload them on someone else. Dora was here with Diego but it appears Diego was left all by himself.
It was movie day and Baylor looked asleep on his mat. He was not.
Day 21- no leaves but a nice sky.
11-11
I found Box Tops on my desk when I got into work. I have a secret Box Top collector apparently.
The light was amazing when I left work and the flag looked beautiful. In honor of all the Veterans, Thank you!
11-12
The Super Moon is coming!
And my super son crashed on the couch before bed time!
