Round Up

9-19

Pink gown can only mean one thing: mammogram day.  I told the tech to make sure we iron out the girls, last year I had to go back because of a fold causing a dark mark.  (it is all good, the mammogram and the results)

The window gardens are growing.  I picked up two dracena at IKEA and pinched off a few succulents when Aldi has some mixed pots in the store.  I need to hang the Donkey tail because it looks really nice when it trails.

Baylor and I ran out to see the sunset after homework.  It was very pretty!

And he tried on his Halloween costume, an Arcader from the movie Pixal.

9-20

Dinner with the family at Pizza Grill.  Yummy.

9-21

Baylor tried to go through what used to be a path in the garden.  This spring I just could not get to it at all and it was like a jungle he said.   I agree!

He was up really early this morning and fell asleep while playing Harry Potter video game.  I wondered why his character was not moving and I looked over and he was out!  Sleepy buddy had to walk up the stairs on his own; I can no longer carry him up stairs.

9-22

Follow up appointment at OOS today for his broken clavicle.  The way he was monkeying around, he is definitely feeling better.

He has good healing around the break but it is not healed completely. We go back in two weeks.  He was not cleared for PE yet either.

9-23

I was able to leave work a few minutes early to run over to pick up Kartikey before I picked up Baylor. I was taking them both to the fall picnic at school and I wanted to surprise Baylor with Kartikey already with me.  His mom works until 6 and would not be able to take him but was coming over to pick him up when she got off work.  They are thick as thieves again this year being in the same class. And I love it.

Baylor took a few selfies of them.

The were off on their own most of the time with me trailing around checking up on them.  They did the hay ride alone again this year.

And I had them pose for me in the tree I am sure they will be in when they move up to this school next year.

September 22nd was Presley's second birthday and they waited until Friday to open the package I sent.  The books were not really part of the gift but some I found that were good books but too young for Baylor.  One of the things I did send as a gift is a cute batik dyed sun dress I bought her last year at the beach.  I hope she gets to wear it next summer.  And I get a photo of her in it!

9-24

Laura said Presley liked her new fox dish set and put Kix in the cup, which made her happy.

Baylor and I had to go out early in the morning to do some shopping and stopped at a farm stand I have driven past for years.  I found an interesting sign Molly would have enjoyed.

Baylor had a double play date and while the boys were playing, I closed up the pool.  Farewell summer 2016, it is now fall 2016.

I also found a fat mantis hopefully going to lay some eggs in the garden.  I showed it to all the boys.

The fur babies were having a snooze together.

9-23

When Joey came to pick up Landon yesterday he said he wanted to take the boys home with him (actually he was just going to take Baylor, he did not know Ryder was there as well) But I told him I have two seats and he said he would take all of them.  Well, we could not find Ryder's one shoe so I looked around even more this morning and found it under the other side of the grill cover.  I checked one side when we were looking but not the other.

And while rooting around the mint bed for the shoe I found an mantis egg case!!

Round Up

9-6

Grandma and Buddy bought Baylor two button up shirts because they thought that would be easy to get dressed for school. And it was. After school he was messing around with his buttons and showing off his chest.  I guess it is something they are born with, these man children.

9-7

Button up shirt number two, taken to show Grandma how handsome he looks in them.

Tamela's birthday was really 9-3 but she was on vacation until today.  I made her pecan pie bars and a taco layer 'cake'.

9-8

Homework is back and we have sorely missed it. Not.

9-9

Today was Nancy's birthday, I just had to decorate her office door and start the birthday card.

Our school district let out early due to high temps and Tamela had to bring her daughter into work.  She got to wear a party hat and blow the birthday horn.  Sitting with Aunt Heidi has its perks!

9-10

We went to Mom's for the September Aunt's meeting and Baylor gathered up some acorns to throw in the creek. We forgot to put on his sling, he has been healing up well, but he still used his left arm to throw with.

The meeting was a good one with everyone in attendance.  We filled the dining room and kitchen. The kids played downstairs. And after everyone was gone and it was too late to go to the Whoopie Pie festival, Heather and I went to Kmart!

9-11

The boys have been counting down for today for the last four days.  They were so excited for a play date.  We had lunch outside and while it was not shirtless weather in my opinion, they seemed to feel just fine.

They even went swimming for a bit.  It did not last long but they were still happy to get in.

When Joey picked up Landon, he decided to take Baylor home with him to play a video game.  The boys were supposed to play our copy of it but it would not work (I bought it preowned and never checked it).  Gloria picked him up after she got out of work and I spent my child free few hours push mowing the entire yard!  But the fall clematis is blooming so at least the fenced in part smelled lovely.

My pretty Eddy Mae Jean.

The boys left this little scene in the asparagus bed.

Labor Day Weekend

The boys made it through the night and were eager to play in the morning.  With Baylor water is always fun and the one side of the van got a bath again.  So did the wagon and a few other items.

I worked on starting pinata number two.

And cutting limbs out of the maple tree that was hit with the bark beetles.  There are so many dead branches up there!!! I cut them into kindling for Heather's camp.

It was not too hot and the pool was only 72 degrees but they asked to get in the pool.

They lasted about 15 minutes!  And tried to stay out of the water the entire time.

The girls came over and all four played together. I have no idea what they were doing but they seemed to get a long well and had fun.

I had said I would take the boys to the Fun Fort at the park and we headed over there around 4:30.  They played well for about a half an hour and butted heads and went separate directions.  I asked Baylor to find Zayden so we could leave, I could tell they were done.  He crossed the sand box and was trying the launch himself off the concrete curb around the sand and he went down.  I saw it happen and was on my way to follow him.  I believe his foot tried to push off sand and not concrete which is why his foot went out from under him.  He actually went down on his side and when he got up he said his shoulder was hurt.  I had him raise his arm, which he could, but it really hurt.  Since he is really good about shaking things off I had a Mommy ESP that this was not something to shake off.  We took Zayden home. One because I did not want to take him to the ER and two, his house was on the way to the ER anyway.  While I was talking to Ginny a dragonfly several times buzzed the van where Baylor was sitting.  I really did not want to go to the ER because they make you wait so long so I stopped at a side road and googled urgent care near me.  One popped up super close and closing in 30 minutes, it was 5:30.  We turned around and headed over to OSS which is newly opened.  I had no idea they were there and when we arrived I found out that the O in OSS is for Orthopaedic urgent care.  I told him while we were waiting that if he broke his bone he was in the right place to treat it.

And he broke his collarbone.  When the tech pulled up the X-Ray I gasped.  She asked me if I was a radiologist and I said no but I could see that it was broken!  But thankfully it is a clean break and should heal fine in a few weeks.  They gave him a sling, an excuse for school that he cannot participate in PE until he is released, instructions for Tylenol and rest and a follow up appointment in two and a half weeks.  We were out of there by 6:05.  He was such a trooper about the entire process.  There were tears due to the pain but he handled the news well.

Saturday night he did not sleep well due to the pain and had a major meltdown between 10 and 11.  He found a comfortable spot on the couch and passed out for over and hour and woke up a much happier child.  I had forgotten what meltdowns were like!  Mom and dad had come over to see him and while he was napping Mom and I ran out to check on my cousin's cats and stop at a drug store on the way home.

When we got back Baylor and Buddy were putting together the Lego set the girls brought over for him yesterday as a get well gift.

We spent the afternoon on the couch together watching movies and being silly.

Monday a FB memory popped up and I went and got a rice cake and took his photo.  Seven years later he still eats these rice cakes.

Zayden's mom came by Sunday evening to pick up Zayden's backpack I left at our house and his birthday gift.  Sunday was his birthday party at a ropes course at Ski Roundtop and I was sad we missed it.  She gave him his gift bag which had a Spiderman punch balloon.  We used it to make static hair which he thought was super funny.

Meme and Pap came down for Labor Day lunch and to see their little grandson.  I was showing Meme pictures of vacation and some Snapchats and I took a few with her.

Baylor said they all look like Pap with this big nose filter.  So I did all three of them!

We had a nice lunch with my parents and Gloria's parents.  It was not quite the weekend we were planning but it worked out well anyway.
