The Other Tree

This is the other tree Baylor came from, donor 2623.  When I first received the photos I remarked how similiar to my brother and I he looks.  And he does.

This is my brother when he was 4.  Baylor has our coloring but he decided he wanted blue eyes instead of hazel which the donor and I both have.  There are no blue eyes in my family but Lori's eyes are blue so she is quite happy about it.

The A.pple did not fall far from this tree

I was born in Germany (dad was in the US AF).  When was 18 months we moved to the US and they had this photo taken of me in my dirndl. We still have the dress somewhere.  That is why I bought the lederhosen for Baylor for his 18 month photo.

Do we look like we are related at all?

In other news, I took a pass on trying for a baby this month.  The few tests I do to check my fertility just did not line up right and I was not comfortable just giving it a shot so to speak.  With only three chances at a full sibling I want to make extra sure we are doing it at the right time.  So back they go again.  This is their second trip to the office, I was sick last month.  I have been following blogs of other women trying to conceive and those that were successful.  It gives me hope but also gives me some pain.  I was pregnant on the third try with the office's help and I have only had two insems this time.  But only having three to work with just makes is that much more stressful. Stress is not what I need to be feeling right now.  Thankfully I have my wonderful son to hold and love and if that is all that is meant to be I can be happy with that too.  But I will be trying in August and bought additional testing options to try to pinpoint the right time! 40 is looming closer and closer every month.  That is enough to stress me out just with that.
This morning Baylor dropped a book between our vanity and wall today.  I used a stick to get it out and along with it came a bookmark that said 'Miracles happen to those who believe."  It was not mine and could have possibly been from a past home owner.  It is a small space and I really don't have time to try to clean out the dust and crap back there.  Anyway I nearly took it as a sign but I am not sure I believed it this month.  I have it on my desk and will keep it in mind.

R.oots Mark.et

We went to R.oots Mark.et today, Lori, Baylor and I.  I have not been there since I was pregnant and Lori has never been there.  It was hot so she was not happy but Baylor and I did not mind it.  He told me
today "OK Mama" when I asked him to wait a second.  He has never said that before and was cool to hear it.
Baylor had on his turtle backpack and it has a leash on it.  Don't judge me but it is a safe way to be able to let him walk around.  He is not a stroller baby and he does not mind the backpack. I see babies his age sitting happily in their stroller and wonder what that is like.

We bought some corn, cantalope, peaches, amish made root beer and blackberries but the real reason I go is the cheese braid from Mary Jane's. It is the best out there.

For dinner Baylor and I had corn, cantalope and pineapple.  He really loves his corn!  He ate almost all the corn off the cob.
After dinner we took our walk to the swings at the firehall fairgrounds.  I did not take the camera but I need to.  He loves his swing out there as he can go really high.  It started to rain so we went home for a bath and ready for night night.  It was a great day!

Boomp Sky Bye Bye

Last night we were playing in the neighbor's yard and the M.et Li.fe Blimp floated over our houses. I got all the kids waving to see if they would honk their horn. When the blimp was out of sight, Baylor was asking and signing for more boomp, more boomp. I told him it went bye, bye which usually gets him to say bye and move on. Later after his bath he started talking about the boomp. I told him it was in the sky. The rest of the conversation went like this. Boomp Yes we saw a Blimp Sky Yes it was in the sky Bye Bye Yes blimp went Bye Bye Boomp Sky Bye Bye. The story went on for over an hour in various word order. We called the grand.mas Ya Ya and Meme and he told them the story also. He was very earnest about the boomp in the sky that went bye bye.

Another Weekend Gone By

Baylor and I had a great weekend and it started on Friday. The sitter was off and I took the day off to be with buddy. We went to YaYa and Grandpa's for the weekend. YaYa, Baylor and I went to the Gr.een Drag,on, farmer'/flea market, in the morning and it was hot and crowded. No photos because juggling shopping and a toddler who hates a stroller and then trying to capture the moment was more than I could handle. We did have fun and bought lots of fruit. Baylor did reasonably well and the stroller made a really nice shopping cart. He promptly fell asleep when we got int the car. We drove to G.ood's St.ore and Sha.dy M.aple store for more shopping.  We went home and Grandpa, Baylor and the dogs sat down for a story.

My friend Molly came to my parents for a visit in the afternoon.  We decided to go to the Drag.on but left Baylor with YaYa.  This time it was still hot but not crowded at all!  We had a good time walking and talking.  We stayed until Saturday evening. Sunday was a good day too. Baylor loves his mower and especially loves to push it on the driveway.  It goes much faster than on the grass.

We also went to the neighbor's youngest daughter's birthday party.  We were there in the kitchen three years ago when she was born. That is a story for another day but it is a good story. Baylor loved the fruit and had it all over his pants in no time.  Vanessa looked great blowing out her candles, if not a little hot.

Baylor and I love bees and found some one the oregano flowers.

Baylor also loves playing with squirties and is getting better at aiming at something other than his own face.  He looks so good in his Jimmy Buffett shirt!

Bal.ti.more here we come

Lori is still not feeling well and Mimi is not good at walking and shopping so Baylor and I went to Bal.ti.more by ourselves today.  We went to I.kea first.  Kids ate free today and he enjoyed his veggies and meatballs.  We bought him a storage system and lots of stuff to put in it!  I bought him the kids pots and pans and other kitchen items.  He is at the mimic age where he likes to be doing what I am doing.  I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and he likes to stir everything.  We were there almost two hours!

We hopped in the car and loaded the next stop into Naggy Maggy and we were off.  I looked back and got this sleepy look.  Not a minute later I looked back and saw this.
He slept all the way to To.ys R Us and and through our shopping trip.  I bought him a doodle pad because he likes to color and this way he is not coloring the table or his clothes.  We then headed to Tra.der J.oes and shopped our wallets empty!  I love that store and wish they had one closer to home.  We had snacks on the way out of Baltimore and he did really well until the last 10 minutes when he was done being in the car seat.  We had a good Swedish dinner of meatballs, cream sauce, potatoes, peas and Harvest Grain mix, from Tra.der J.oes.  After dinner we played outside until bathtime.  After his bath he came to me and I thought he was saying elmo but he took me to the window and pointed the humming bird feeder. He was saying hummer and he wanted to give them more juice.  He pointed to the other feeder in the sink and kept saying 'hummer more juice'.  That is pretty much his first sentence.  He was very insistant on getting more juice for the hummers.  The hummers were feeding and I told him we had to be quite so we did not scare the hummers.  He put his finger to his mouth and shushed me.  I love him!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  It was not the weekend we planned but I think it turned out to be the best weekend in a long time.  My parents came down on Wednesday so they could watch Baylor Thursday and Friday.  Saturday we were supposed to go to Dad's cousin for her party but Lori and Mom were feeling under the weather.  While Baylor and I went shopping at Target and Wegmans Lori called our friends and invited them over for dinner.  She brought her sister and her 'family', boyfriend and his children. We also invited our friend Diane. When the neighbors came home from vacation, we invited them over also.  We had 7 children running around the yard, in the kiddie pools, the bounce house, the various cars and wagons, and the swingset.  They all got a long well and Baylor was not too sure what to do with all of them there.  He did not come out of his shell until there were only two kids left.  But he had a good time and no one got hurt or sunburnt.  The girls and Mom took care of getting the rest of the food done because Baylor wanted me with him the whole time.  We got to use the fire pit and made smores!  Yum!  Especially with a peanut butter cup instead of just chocolate!!  Baylor was worn out but still did not want to go to sleep until after 9:30 but slept through the night which is a rare thing.  Sunday was much more subdued.  It was just my parents and Lori's parents came down and brought Eddy for a visit.  Mimi, Lori's mom, is staying for a few days because Lori is still pretty sick and needs help with Baylor.

Baylor was the only one who wore Red, White, and Blue.  He looked so handsome!

On another front, I am starting my next cycle and in two weeks we will hopefully be trying for baby #2!  I hope it works. I am not getting younger and I only have three tries left!  At least if I get pregnant now I won't be pregnant in the summer!!  I don't want to do that again. So ready, set.....
