One down, one to go

One dresser done and one to go.  The colors look really blue on the photo.  It is really more in the aqua/teal family.

And the middle color looks really odd like it is out of place.  I held the paint chip up to it and it matches and the only thing I can think of is the reflected light from the carpet makes it look grayer.  I don't know what else is causing it because on the color strip it does not look that out of place.

The dressers will all have brushed silver nickle finish but Baylor asked for a star fish for the night stand.  I have not found one yet, except online.  I will keep looking.

One mountain of laundry done and one to go.  Lori is a master craigslist shopper and scored about 5 bags of clothes for 5-7 years.  All Gap, Children's Place, Gymboree and some with tags.  Unfortunately, they come from a non-smoke free home and now my house smells like a smoker's house.  They are all being washed and dried before going in the attic.

Thankfully I work for Airwick and have a lot of odor covering items in my house!  I cannot believe how much the smell is permeating the house.

Construction Rodeo

Today was the 16th Annual Construction Rodeo and Baylor and I went alone this year.  Last year we went with Grandma and Buddy.  We had planned to go with Lucas, Tara, and Julie. Lucas was feeling under the weather and they wanted to play it safe and stay at home.  We are sad they could not come as it was a gorgeous day and the boys would have had a blast today.

This year Baylor was not as interested in watching the diggers preforming their tricks and we saw a few before we had to head to the potty on the other side of the grounds.

Behind the port a johns was a fire truck from Mount Joy.

He did not want to get in the truck at all.  He wanted to see all the hoses and walk around the truck checking out everything.

He did try on the hat.  It was heavy!

Then the slide caught his eye and he loved it.  Loved it is not really strong enough.  He would climb up, slide down, exit running past me asking if he could go again.  Since we had no agenda, I let him go as many times as he wanted. When we did leave it, it was with the understanding we would go back.

Not even Life Lion landing could tear him away.  But since we have seen that in our back yard, it was not really a thrill for him.  I would have enjoyed seeing inside the helicopter but maybe next year.

The areiel lifts were exciting enough to tear him away from the slide.  At least this year I did not get the 'weigh?' comment from anyone.

Then it was off to the Turkey Hill stand to get ice cream.

Baylor had vanilla and chocolate mix and I had

Ice cream on a cool autumn day after many rounds on the slide.  It really was heaven for a little boy.

After ice cream we hit the sand pile.  This year they had a play pile along with the contest pile. Baylor was really good at sharing and not stealing toys from anyone.  Thankfully they had chairs for us old moms while the little boys played.

And back to the slide.  I did not keep track of how many times he went down.  It did not matter to me.  I only cared that he had fun.  And I think he did.

Because he had a second ice cream while sitting in the grass beside the slide.  It was great cuddling him in the grass while he ate his ice cream.

And back to the sand pile.

After he got in trouble kicking sand again after I asked him not to more than once, we went for a walk.  It was late in the day and he had no nap other than the 30 minute drive to the rodeo.  He was punchy as we call that behavior.  We walked a bit and spied the french fries which always is a great mood changer.

We did the slide again and then back to the sand.  While we were there a camera man was getting shots for the local Fox news.  He was shooting a grandson and his grandpa working the digger.

I watched the news and they did not make the cut but it was fun to watch

Baylor and this boy were racing circles around the pile for a long time.  Punchy Baylor did really well until he flung sand in his own face and hair.  Then he was done and we walked to the car.

He did not sleep on the way home and was a good little man all evening.  He even practiced his swimming in the tub at bath time.  He crashed on the couch watching a Cars movie.  It was a good day.
