Happy 2018!!
With the snow comes sledding with Baylor and his friends! We went to the Lower Allen Park to see if their hills were better than the hill at the fire hall. Jake went along but it was so cold I put a t-shirt on him.

Right after Christmas and right after renewing my maintenance agreements with Sears, the refrigerator died and Gloria did not want to deal with getting it fixed. It took about two months over the summer and she was done with the 12 year old fridge. So a new one was delivered and it was all nice and clean.

The eggs froze so they got thrown away! A few other things were tossed but most everything was fine up there for the week and half we did not have a fridge.

Most weeks the day care posts photos of the dogs and this week's photo of Jake was awesome!
And then we were sent a picture of this little guy in a local shelter. And I fell in love with the idea of a pair of dogs.
Baylor had his well child check up. All things are going well for him ☺
Jake and I went for a walk to the frozen creek. It was a lovely evening walk with beautiful views of the creek.

I love our after work walks at sunset. And I love his night light collar!
We took Ryder to the farm show this year and he enjoyed it. They both ordered fries and we found a quiet place to enjoy them.
We liked the enormous horses. They are just huge!!
They both loved the goats and sheep.

They were in love with the wool. We went to one that was being trimmed and I had them ask for a small tuft of wool. They loved it.
One must see the butter sculpture and we did! I see lots of potential cookies and cake there!
Baylor rode the carousel but Ryder did not want to.
But we all got our own milk shakes!!
The line to leave to get on the bus was very long so Baylor had fun running up the stairs and playing on the walls.
It has started, the covering of the fridge with photos and magnets.

On the 16th, I turned 47. I don't feel 47 but then sometimes I feel much older with my creaking joints and soreness.
Even Google wished me happy birthday!

We make an ice cream cake out of two M&M ice cream sandwiches and wonky candles.
We played in the snow and threw snowballs for Jake to catch.
We had family supper at our favorite place to celebrate birthdays.
I made baked potatoes one day and one of them literally blew out of this skin across the oven!
Jake loves big bones and he cannot lie!! And I have a great supplier in Lancaster who is super cheap!!

We started the process to get Roxie in January and she could not look cuter!!
Jake, so far, was aware of the changes about to take place.
Kate sent me the Craigs.list ad that she found Roxie on. Ok, she was even cuter as a tiny puppy but she kept her sweet charm!
The dog park finally opened the end of January or a few days, until it closed again due to wet, sloppy grounds. Jake was very glad to be there though.
Crazy hair day at school meant red chalk in spiky gel.

Looks like something dreadful happened but really it was just washing his hair! It took days to wash it out! I kept finding bits of chalk stuck to hair!

Jakie Jake is an awesome dog and we are so glad we have him. He is a butt sometimes and I am not good at training him but he when he is good, he is good. But when he is bad, he is the worst!!
My two army men helped me with some garden clean up on this lovely winder afternoon. I am not too sure they got much done but it was nice they at least offered.

Since our dog park is closed again we tried other dog parks. John Rudy has a park in York that is lovely, but huge!! I was so nervous with Jake getting into trouble where I could not get to him fast enough. He has his remote collar on but sometimes it does not seem to respond and I cannot get his attention. Thankfully enough of his friends were there that he stayed around for the most part. He did roll a young dog right before we left which was not a good thing since ours is coming up soon!

Sam is one dog Jake will not try to dominate. He does not try to lick his face like he does with some other dogs but he loves playing with Sam and Sam likes to put Jake in his place.

We tried the Dillsburg dog park next. It is smaller and worked out well, other than being a swampy mess due to the rain and melted snow.

So we took the dogs to the stream and I had Jake on a short leash, not retractable. He decided to the jump the stream and I could only follow. Though I cannot jump so I just landed in the water. It was lovely!!!
