Finally Mother's Day with Meme

Saturday I had originally planned a cook out but it had to be cancelled.  Gloria had taken off work to join me and when I cancelled things I asked her if she wanted to take the day to go so her parents since we could not go last Sunday.  That worked for her so we headed out around 9, and were stopped by the train of course.

When Gloria had to get a new phone she got Baylor one as well.  Great.  He had it along to play his game but also took selfies with the family.

Baylor, me, and Jake

Pap showed us where Eddy is and we took some rocks from the field to paint her a headstone.

Just like when Eddy was young and we went to their house, I was on dog duty.  We sat on the porch while Pap grilled burgers and hot dogs.  Even after the no people food speech, Jake ate three hot dogs before lunch was over.

He did not mind it at all.

Pap showed Baylor had to drive the four wheeler and then Baylor took two laps by himself.  It was in the low gear so he could not hit it too hard and fast but it was hard for him to turn.  But he loved it!

So did Jason.

And Baylor and Jason

Jake was a good boy and everyone loved him.

Meme likes pictures of really nothing so I took a few to print and give to her.

My view of Jake when we play.  I think he is part shark.

Pap took a nap after lunch and we let him sleep when we said good bye.

Everyone is used to photos at Meme's house.

I like to play along. Meme will love these and show all her friends and family.

When we got home I headed out for some shopping so I did not have to go on Sunday.  I was at Toys R Us looking for preemie clothes (they don't have any) and found the big containers of the good bubble solution. When I got home we found out Jake loves bubbles as much as Baylor does.  He was mad for popping them!

Just like Baylor is.

Second Grade Fun

Tuesday morning was the first spring concert Lower Allen has had since Baylor started school.  He was telling me about it for a few weeks and singing the songs they were learning.  The whole school participated.  There are three of each class, kindergarten, first and second grade.  The school was not expecting as many parents and grandparents to show up, which was a good problem to have, so there was a chair scramble. I sat on the floor in the front row with Kartikey's parents and Gloria was given a chair.  Each grade had different hats, the theme was Teddy Bear's Picnic.  They were asked to dress in all brown, black, or white if possible and bring a teddy bear.  Baylor chose to be a black bear.  He did not have any acting parts or solos but I know he was singing along.

He is in the back behind Landon.

They sang familiar songs that had been reworked into teddy bear themes. Kartikey was one of the conductors for the second grade.

Our friend Molly was a teddy bear having a picnic by the honey tree.

My little teddy bear was so happy to have both of us there to see him and I know Gloria was really happy she was able to attend as well.  The second grade sang their songs, then the first grade and then the kindergartners who were just singing at a whisper.

The flying canopy did cause more than a scratch on the hood of the van.  It apparently activated a crack as well.  It was not there on Sunday but Monday morning it was. By Tuesday it had grown out further into the center.  I have had a chip in the windshield on the far side right in front of my view for as long as we have had the van.  I had it checked before and it was not something that would turn into a crack.  Unless the metal frame of a patio canopy landed on it and it got below freezing overnight and ping, off it went.

Thankfully Safelight Repairs, Safelight Replace right there in the parking lot during work on Wednesday. I even backed the van into the parking spot so he would have easy access.  I am nice like that.

Thursday morning we were actually on time leaving for drop off and work.  Until we hit the cars backed up almost a mile before the first light we come to.

Friday after work was the school Spring Fair.  It was a hot spring evening but for a fair it was wonderful.

Annual tree photo.  He will be going to this elementary school for third to fifth grade.  They apparently already had moving up day a week or so ago when they go visit the school.  Baylor never said a word about it until I asked him.

We had bought a bounce of tickets this year because last year we blew through them.  This year I ended up giving them away because he did not want to do anything.  Either with a friend or by himself.  He did the bounce house obstacle course with Ryder and then did the regular bounce house.

I did convince him to do the mining booth which he did enjoy.  Kartikey did not arrive until almost 6:30 and he was a happier kid then.

And I was able to sit and talk to his mom while the ran back and forth for tickets. All they did was the obstacle course for red tickets to turn in for fair crap.

These two are still thick as thieves and I love seeing them have fun together.

I had to save this one, my favorite meme so far.

My Nephew is Here, Six Weeks Early

Last Thursday Jamie told my parents that Laura went to the hospital the night before because her water broke so we were expecting a baby within 24 hours.  Well apparently, that was not happening and Laura was going to stay on hospital bed rest and monitoring for two weeks if they could to give the baby some more time. His due date was June 22, the first day of Summer.  His sister was born on the first day of Fall and it would have been fun to have him born on his due date.  Late in the morning on Tuesday Jamie said the baby's heart rate was changing so they were going to induce her.  I was really hoping he would come on the 16th like Baylor and myself but he waited until the 17th at 5 am.  4 lbs 9 oz he is a wee baby but with a big name.  Hubbard McGinnis Miller. I don't know where Hubbard came from but will find out this summer when we go up there.  McGinnis is Jamie and my dad's middle name and if I would have had another son, it would have been his middle name as well.

Though tiny, he is mighty and never had to go to the NICU.  And by tiny his head is not much bigger than a pack of crackers!

He looks like a doll in her arms.  I went online and ordered some preemie clothes to be sent to him because even newborn clothes start at 6 lbs!

They said Presley was obsessed with her little brother, at least for now.  She and her brother are about the same age gap and Jamie and myself.  Close enough to play but apart enough to have their own interests and friends.  So happy he arrived safe and strong.
