Another evening spent at the dog park, it is my nightly social hour. Jake and his dog friends and I have my new park friends.
Thursday was the first night of Obedience training class with the dog. It went well, Jake behaved well in class and so did Baylor. We worked on a touch game, a name game, and a take it game. There are only four dogs in the class and she told us to not let the dogs interact at all so they don't get the idea this is a play date. Jake is the oldest dog there but wanted to play the most. That is what dogs are for in his mind!
Gloria had my tires replaced in the morning and when I left the dog class my low tire light was on. When I got home I found a nail in the sidewall of my tire!! I was so jacked about it! How does a nail get in the sidewall! Another tire change by AAA in the morning and Gloria will need to take it to get replaced when she is off work again. I don't do tires, like she does not do dishes.
Two rain gauges, two different measurements.
Jake looking really cute on his favorite spot on the couch. Little does he know that is also my favorite spot on the couch, but I do not sit there very often anymore so he is welcome to it.
When it rains, the mud flows into the walkway at the dog park. Not everyone will brave the mud so I usually post a photo of the mud to the FB page for the regulars at the park. (it is private and kind of like our own club) This mud will suck off your shoes!
It started out slow at the park but other dogs and owners braved the mud for some afternoon fun.
Peace between the fur babies, it is a good thing.
We had the family reunion early this year because all the old people complain about the heat at the end of July. And we had it at a new place as well, just to give it a try. The restroom situation is better and the place it a bit nicer, brighter. The kids played games like this one where they had a toothpick in their mouth and they had to pick up a gummy Lifesaver with while it was buried in powdered sugar.
He did it eventually.
And they did the drunken bartender again. I don't think they spun Baylor around enough, he did not wobble or spill at all.
Back at home it was back to the dog park, he did spend the day in the crate on the weekend!
Apparently we were not there long enough to wear him out, he found the remote to the bed and chewed it beyond working. Thanks Jake!
Ryder spent the night and Sunday morning was so gorgeous!! I did not want them to spend the day in the basement Minecrafting so we headed to Gifford Pinchot Park to see what we could do outside. I did not have swim clothes for them but we did make the best of it.
They just played on the boat launch area, wading in the water.
The butterflies were sipping their water from the sands.
They did not go in any further than this but were happy to play in the water.
A bit of a dry off in the sun.
I did bring water and some snacks but it was not enough for two hungry boys.
So we were third in line at the snack bar. They choose burgers, fries, drink and ice cream meal combo. It was a good day to be a kid! And a mom of one of those kids.
When we got home, they wanted to go to the creek, this time suited up for water play. And Jake got to go as well.
He does love water! I wish he could be off a leash but we have not worked on his recall skills so I am not going to risk it for a long time. Right now he will have to deal with the longest retractable leash I could find.
It was a great day for water play!!
Jake will fetch a stick but then he ends up chewing on it and the game is over.
And when we walked home, they wanted to get in the pool!
Thankfully our pool was clear. Jake's, not so much.
