Happy Birthday Grandma and Buddy

Wednesday night Baylor decided to get the party stated on his loose tooth, top right.   It has been barely wiggling for weeks now and I guess he wanted to rush it along.  He worked on it with his fingers and requested a whole apple to munch on.  It was all working and he said he could hear the roots crunching.  UGH!  By bedtime it was definitely looser but not ready to come out.

Thursday evening it was now more of a pain than ready to come out.  It was loose but holding on in the front left side of the tooth.  We drove to Mom and Dad's after work where he showed off his loose tooth.  I can handle the wiggling and the removal of the tooth but the unnatural movement and placement of the tooth in the in between time makes my skin crawl and my spine jump out of my back.

Watching himself in the camera making it wiggle.

Before bed we tried to pull it out but it was not ready.  He tried, I tried and in the end we brushed around the tooth and went to bed.

Friday morning Baylor and I watched the second of the original Star Wars movies.  My parents have them on VHS and they are from before the movies were reworked.  The versions I remember seeing in the theaters as a kid!   Mom and I went to Green Dragon later in the morning, a special Friday and I am off of work kind of treat.  We bought a few items for lunch and dessert and headed home.  We never prowl around the place, just hit to spots needed and head home.

Little Man played outside with Buddy for a bit after I got back.  I had to make peach pie and work on the food for the birthday lunch I was making to celebrate Mom and Dad's birthdays, the 18th and 26th respectively.  Dad asked for pork chops and I bought jumbo Gulf shrimp for Mom.  We had red potatoes and green beans and corn on the cob.  It was a lot of busy work getting the food ready but we enjoyed the meal.  After lunch, and before dessert, I played with Baylor.  He was excited to be climbing their dogwood much higher this year than last year.  I was there as a spotter and to ooh and aww over his feats.

When it was time for dessert, Baylor had a snicker doodle whoopie I had bought at Green Dragon with ice cream.  He was upset because he know he could not bit into it. I said I could cut it up and he wisely told me then the filling would mush out the sides.  I used a serrated knife which limited the smooshing.  He scooped his own ice cream and only one scoop landed on the floor.

Photo taken before the cutting of course.  He wanted the pie to sit on a bed of ice cream. When he ate it he pulled the pie of and ate the ice cream first anyway.

We sang to Buddy first.  He had peach pie and butter pecan ice cream.

And for Grandma I made gluten free chocolate cookies.  She had vanilla ice cream with her cookies.

Happy Birthday Mom and Dad!! Love you both!

Sunday Playdate

We had Landon and Zayden over for a play date this afternoon.  Zayden took some time to come around to play and his mom and him stayed over for dinner.  But before that we were all in the pool and when the boys were done, Ginnie and I floated around the pool talking while the boys played inside.  We are not sure what all they were up to because we let them play by themselves.  Landon's dad picked him up around 4:30 and I am not sure the was too keen on us just letting them play unattended.  They are good boys and whatever they may have gotten into, I am sure they were fine.  Ginnie and I had soup for supper but the boys wanted PB&Js for dinner with sliced apples.  Baylor ran past me with the towel saying they were eating al fresco.  He looks sad because he was so hungry his stomach hurt he said.  They ate their dinner out by the rope swing and Ginnie and I ate on the patio.  It was good to see them both!

Some Soup for Little Man's Soul

Karns had a good price on whole chickens so Saturday morning one of them became chicken corn noodle soup, one of his favorites.  We bought the corn Friday night at Oak Grove,  We all love this soup but especially Baylor.  I will freeze most of it for lunches this school year.  Why am I thinking about school lunches?  Because it starts in ten days!!!  Where does the time go when you are having fun?

Speaking of time passing, back in May Baylor brought home a paper bag with two zinnia seedlings for Mother's Day.  Three months later we have two large and lovely zinnia plants; one is purple and one is orange.

Eddy was outside the fence with us and headed into the snowball bush.  I wanted to get a picture of her with her sitting in the bushes but she did not want to wait.  Baylor offered to help me capture the moment.  My two babies in the bushes.

Last Day at Summer Day Care

After picking Baylor up from his last Friday at Mrs Mary's I took him to Oak Grove for Ice Cream and Vietnamese egg rolls.  Both items we both love!  I picked Chocolate Chocolate and he picked a Rainbow swirl with banana yellow, raspberry blue, and cherry red.

He got the last two egg rolls and loved every bite of them.

Tiny tomatoes, red and yellow raspberries, blackberries and green beans!  Baylor spent the entire day with Kartikey and his mom and I shared the fruit with them as a small thank you!

Knoebels with Kartikey

We had plans to go to Knoebels for a Gay Pride Picnic and we invited Kartikey to join us.  We have not seen him in weeks because the weekend after our beach vacation he left for TX with his grandparents for several weeks of visiting family.  He had just come home the previous Sunday but his parents were happy to share him with us for the day.  We packed our wagon with a crock pot of mac and cheese for the pot luck picnic and towels and such in case we hit the water park and made out way to the Pride pavilion.  It was mainly a lot of older, gay men with some women and families thrown in for good measure.  We meet up with Theresa and Buffy and sat with them at the back of the tent.

The boys were ready to ride so we bought them tickets right away.  Their first ride selection left me looking like this, a wet, hot mess!

From the sidelines, the ride looks like this.

They look so excited waiting for this ride to fill up.  But they were all smiles when the ride was spinning and whirling around.

Moms selfie.

With Kartikey along, I did not have to go on all rides and Baylor did not have to go it alone.  Win, win!!

It was pretty hot and a few hours before the pot luck was to start so we got the kids a small ice cream cone, which was two scoops!  Neither could finish their cone and both were covered in ice cream drippings.

Watching two boys was fine other then these two wanted to climb everything, every railing, every tree, anything!

But they did love the wooden roller coasters.  I look awful but they are super cute, little buddies together again.

Yelling at them to look here before we get to the top.  They love the Phoenix coaster because they got air under their butts.  I did too actually.  The wood coasters are fun and rattley!

Baylor spied the swans in the creek and wanted me to take a photo of them.  Ta-da!

The boys wanted to cool off so they are up there somewhere waiting in the splash zone of the water ride.

They did the spinning wheel of death ride and both loved it.

They rode the rocket ships.  And a few other rides.  But not too many as we spent a lot of time in lines!

The last ride we went on, at the end of the day, was the Impulse.  The line was out past the entrance gate all day long and was still there at 5:30 when we got in line.  We were in line for almost an hour.

Five turns in the cattle lines later we were on the steps.  Baylor kept saying the wait would be worth it being on the ride.  The boys were just at the right height but needed booster seats.

For Baylor that proved to be a bit too much. It is fast ride and I was screaming the entire time.  Baylor was crying at the end because the lap brace was pushing too hard into his belly.  He hated it, at least at that moment.  The ride assistant was super nice and pulled his brace off him first as soon as the buzzer sounded it was time to get off the ride.  He was tired and done for the day which did not help his enjoyment.  Kartikey loved the ride right off and I did too.  We headed out at sunset as the lights of the park were being to come one.

I bought the souvenir photo because his face kills me in it.  Of course I don't look at myself but he, he just makes me smile.
