My Day With Baylor

It is a good start to the day when you get in the car near the end of Winter and the temp reads 59 degrees!  Nice..

I finally made the effort to get my driver's license photo taken, it only expired on 1/17/2016.  We went to the Carlisle place like last time four years ago when Baylor was tiny and sat between my knees while I had my photo taken.  This time he sat by the window reading a book to himself.  We were in and out in no time and headed to a store to pick up an item I ordered and then to Applebee's because my friend was working that afternoon.  One of us had a good hair day.  Thankfully he was not getting his license photo taken.  Lunch with Baylor was fun.  When I sat us down at the 'counter' (otherwise known as the bar at other times of the day) I noticed Carson's mom Debby was sit there by herself eating.  Jarrett was the counter-tender and I asked them both if they could watch Baylor, who was still working on his book, while I went to the restroom.  When I got back I thought to myself how odd that would have looked from the outside.  A lady sat her kid at the bar and then left to go to the bathroom.  Nice parenting.  I know I would have thought that!  We had a nice lunch and dropped him off at Zayden's for a play date and I headed home. Three hours later I went back for him.  The boys had a great time running around outside and then finishing up playing a video game Baylor loaned to him a few weeks ago.  

We had a beautiful sun set to the west. 

And a gorgeous moon to the east.  

A Study of Churros on an Orange Plate and an Orange Sky

I have wanted to make Churros for a long time and finally made the time this morning to get them done.  Baylor had them for breakfast and loved them.  The rest went into work where they were devoured.  They are super delicious!  Especially with the chocolate sauce I had for the work group.  

The sky was a lovely shade of orange this morning.  Just stunning.

Ok, but if you did I would tell you he put snow down my pants and I told him I would put his bare butt in the snow if he did it again.  He did and then I did.  I am a Mom of my word. 

Monday, Monday

I took Darth Vader to school today.  Thankfully he did not try to change me to the dark side.  

We have been really working on his sight words and the tile method really seems to have clicked with him rather than the flash card method.  

I love having my son and I love seeing his little tableaus around the house.  Usually Lego but sometimes other toys left in mid play.   

Happy Valentine's Day

I made Valentine's pancake for my little sweet heart for breakfast.  He enjoyed them but not as much as I enjoy him for sure. 

He made out well of course.  I do tend to spoil him.  

Grimm was not part of his gift but wanted to part of the photo.  

He loved his new light sabor and the Iron Man movies.  He gave me the craft he made at the school party.  Which is the best gift I could get from him, other than his love!  Which I know I get every day. 

Aunt's Meeting

I made Red Velvet Brownies for my bar cookie for the Aunt's meeting.  They are so shiny and red (thank you Instagram filter)

And heart shaped biscuits.  Facebook reminded me that I made them last year as well.  We had a good time at Leslie's.  It was a year ago that Amanda died and it was good to be around the family again.  

Heather and I met up at the Christmas Tree Shoppe after the breakfast and I had her kids try on hats for me.  Her little Irish lad and lassie.  

The rest of the day went well at home and while Baylor and I were winding down to go to bed, we took a few photos of our cut selves.  

And this is how he crashed on the couch not long later. Like a giant spider on his back.
