Saturday we were double booked for parties and I had to make the decision to leave the 2:00 baby shower early to head out to Connor's birthday party. Baylor was going to have to go to the shower with me anyway and I knew that is not an event that he would enjoy. So we headed out early to find a gift for Connor. I had asked him the last time I saw him what he wanted and he asked for a hockey helmet but not a goalie one. I thought we should be able to pick one up at Dick's but apparently all they had were three or for in stock and they were all smalls. They were too tight on Baylor and Connor has a bigger head than he does. So we wandered around the store to see if we could find anything else for him. Baylor liked boxing but was really happy when we went to Toys R Us to see if we could find anything there. He had some Meme money burning a hole in his pocket and he bought a Star Wars Lego set, a tiny Millennium Falcon and a Rocky Raccoon mini-fig. Both of which I put together as soon as we arrived at the shower. He played with them on the floor while Jen opened her gifts. We stayed until 3:15 and headed to Gettysburg for the party.
It was at the same bowling alley we had Baylor's fifth birthday and we had the duck pin lanes also. Baylor was ready to bowl but when we got there he was not expecting the duck pins and did not remember it from his party. He spent the first four frames sitting on my lap being sad but then came around and decided to join Connor, Brigid and Quaid and ended up having a great time.
It is an old alley and the resets would get stuck often. Sometimes the button would help but other times the guy would have to go down back and reset the machines manually. But the kids did not mind.
Quaid was the best of the kids and won both games.
After about an hour of bowling the pizza was served. Baylor is not always a fan of pizza so I was not sure if he would eat any. Especially since we had food at the shower but he ended up eating a slice with pepperoni, which he has recently decided he likes.
It was a small party: just us, my parents who left very early so they didn't have to drive home in the dark, Quaid, Heather's Mom and one of her ex-boyfriends who the kids still love to see.

We had to give Connor an IOU for his gift but we did give him a Rocky Raccoon mini-fig. We had watched the movie at his house anyway so we knew he would like him. Baylor and Quaid played air hockey and Baylor did pretty good guarding his goal but Quaid ended up winning by a few points. Baylor hates losing and did not take it well of course.
